Alison Elizabeth Margaret Goldfrapp (b.May 13, 1966) is the youngest of six children. Isabella Barge, her mother, was a nurse. Her father, Nicholas Goldfrapp, was a former army officer who now works in advertising. The surname Goldfrapp is of German origin. Goldfrapp’s family moved frequently as she grew up, eventually settling in Alton, Hampshire, where she attended the independent Alton Convent School.
