Gavin McGregor Rossdale was born on 30th October 1965 in Marylebone, London, to parents Barbara Stephan (née Bowie) and Douglas Rossdale. His father was a Russian-Jewish doctor while her mother was Scottish. Their family name was originally Rosenthal.
Rossdale was the lead singer of the rock band Bush from 1992 till 2002. Following the band's separation, he became the lead singer and guitarist for the American rock band Institute. After releasing the band's only album Distort Yourself in 2005, he strived towards a solo career.

The new single from Rossdale's band Bush titled 'Bullet Holes' was featured in the film. A month later, Daily Mail reported the new couple was enjoying their lunch in LA following the success of the single from the John Wick movie.

Previously, Rossdale was dating Sophia Thomalla for a year. The singer made his relationship with Sophia official on Instagram in July 2017. The now-deleted post showed the couple smiling in Reno, Nevada.

Rossdale met fellow singer Gwen Stefani back in 1995 when their respective bands, Gavin's 'Bush' and Gwen's 'No Doubt', toured together.
Rossdale and his girlfriend Stefani were in a relationship for a while before taking a break. During this period, the singer began dating Courtney Love and did so for eight months in 1995-96. Kurt Cobain's widow Courtney said, "Everyone gave me so much shit because Gavin sounded a lot like Kurt."
