Lily Collins, the leading cast of Netflix's Emily in Paris, previously admitted that she was an anorexic when she was younger. However, she has healed over the years and admits to being in better health now.

Netflix's Emily in Paris, created by Darren Star, is a romantic comedy series that follows the titular character as she lands her dream job and relocates from Chicago to Paris to work at a marketing firm.

In the season 2 finale, Sylvie leaves Savoir to start her own firm and invites Emily to join her. In the third season, we can expect the latter to remain in Paris and decline her offer. Besides this, things become more complicated for Emily and Gabrielle when he and Camille move in as the former's neighbors.

Furthermore, there is likely to be some progress in the case of Alfie, who suggests attempting a long-distance relationship. Because of this, viewers are captivated by each episode. Meanwhile, you may recognize Lily Collins, who plays the role of Emily, because her father is Phil Collins, or because of her films such as Love, Rosie, Abduction, and The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.

Lily Collins Is Not an Anorexic in 2022: The Emily in Paris Star Suffered From Anorexia Nervosa, Also Known as Anorexia/Eating Disorder, When She Was Younger, but She Learned to Heal Over Time!

To be more specific, Lily Collins (@lilyjcollins) battled anorexia nervosa or simply anorexic/eating disorder, and she spoke about it in 2017 when she played a character with the illness in the film To The Bone. During the film, she was no longer suffering from anorexia, but she decided to open up about it in order to embrace and help others who were going through the same thing.

Anorexia nervosa, also known as anorexia, is a type of eating disorder characterized by abnormally low body weight, an intense fear of gaining weight, and a distorted perception of weight. Anorexics are placed in extreme efforts that significantly disrupt their lives because they place a high value on maintaining their weight and shape.

People suffering from anorexia usually severely restrict their food intake in order to avoid or maintain weight loss. They may restrict their calorie intake by vomiting after eating or abusing prescription medications, diet supplements, diuretics, or enemas. They may also try to lose weight by overexerting themselves. Regardless of how much weight is lost, the individual is still afraid of gaining weight.

Lily Collins has opened up about her eating disorder and credited fiancé Charlie McDowell with making her feel 'empowered' and like she was the 'best version' of herself. The Emily in Paris star, 33, also explained how she's been in therapy for years and is finally understanding why she let 'darker thoughts dictate' her life.

In a candid interview with the new podcast Make It Reign, she discussed dealing with imposter syndrome at times but being glad to have found her voice. Lily explained to host Josh Smith about her eating disorder that she has now begun to understand what happened and that she used to have a lot of voices in her head all the time that silenced her outward voice'.

Likewise, in an interview with Harper's Bazaar, the Emily in Paris cast also revealed that she became an anorexic when she was younger, but that she learned to heal over time. She stated

When I was younger, I wanted to achieve this image of perfection that I associated with - well, with what you see in the media; you think body shape has a lot to do with being perfect.

The actress' weight loss was a major concern for her, but she added that she began to change in a positive way when she realized she wanted to have a family in the future, despite her desire to control what she ate in order to achieve perfection.

Lily Collins' weight loss was also detailed in another interview with Shape, and the actress admitted that she realized that a perfect body is one that is healthy. The actress stated,

But healthy now is how strong I feel. It’s a beautiful change because if you’re strong and confident, it doesn’t matter what muscles are showing. Today I love my shape. My body is the shape it is because it holds my heart.
