Paul Adelstein (@pauladelstein) from Cruel Summer is an American actor and writer best known for his roles as Agent Paul Kellerman on Fox‘s Prison Break and as physician Cooper Freedman on ABC‘s Private Practice. He is perhaps best known for his recurrent performances as Leo Bergen on ABC‘s Scandal and Jake Novak on Bravo‘s Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce in addition to having small parts in films like Intolerable Cruelty and Memoirs of a Geisha.
Similarly, the 54-year-old actor also starred as David Sweetzer in the NBC comedy I Feel Bad. Later, he co-created and co-wrote the dark comedy TV series Imposters, which aired on Bravo for two 10-episode seasons in 2017 and 2018; he is listed as a writer on six episodes. On the show, he also portrayed Shelley Cohen.

Talking about Paul Adelstein’s early life, the Steve Chambers actor was born on April 29, 1969, into a Reform Jewish household in Chicago, Illinois. He attended the progressive Francis W. Parker School before attending Bowdoin College, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude with a degree in English. Later, he began his career in theater, first with John Cusack‘s New Crime Productions and then with the Steppenwolf Theatre Company.
Paul Adelstein made his movie debut in The Grifters (1990) and went on to appear in a number of television series, including Cupid, ER, Without a Trace, and Scrubs, as well as a number of significant supporting roles in films such as Bedazzled (2000), Intolerable Cruelty (2003), Memoirs of a Geisha (2005), and Be Cool (2005).

Furthermore, his then-wife has also appeared on an episode of Private Practice (airdate February 24, 2011), however, she and Adelstein did not share any scenes.
