Following the unprecedented success of DAHMER - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story and The Watcher, the streaming platform's latest true crime film The Good Nurse is based on the true story of Charles Cullen, a nurse who admitted to murdering between 30 and 40 terminally ill patients over a 16-year period.
He has since been arrested for his heinous crimes, and according to NJ.com, he could be the "most prolific serial killer in history," as investigators discovered he could have killed up to 400 victims.
Based on Charles Graeber's non-fiction book The Good Nurse: A True Story of Medicine, Madness, and Murder, the film stars Eddie Redmayne as Charles Cullen and Jessica Chastain as Amy Loughren, two ICU nurses who formed a strong friendship while sharing long nights at the hospital.
After several patients mysteriously die in similar ways, an investigation is launched, and with Charles as the prime suspect, Amy is forced to risk her life and the safety of her children in order to uncover the truth.

The Good Nurse premiered on September 11 at the Toronto Film Festival and had a limited theatrical release on October 19, 2022. It was released on Netflix on October 26, 2022.

Eddie Redmayne as Charles Cullen
Eddie Redmayne, a British actor, is best known for his roles in films such as Les Misérables, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and The Danish Girl. Similarly, Tobias Lindholm, the director of The Good Nurse, stated that Redmayne was his first choice for the role of Charles Cullen.
Eddie Redmayne has shone brightly as a real-life character on numerous occasions. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in The Danish Girl, just a year after he won the same award for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything.
Jessica Chastain as Amy Loughren
Jessica Chastain (@jessicachastain), an Oscar winner, has played a variety of characters in films such as IT, Interstellar, and Scenes From a Marriage. She most recently portrayed Amy Loughren in The Good Nurse alongside her real-life counterpart.
Amy was a fellow nurse and friend of Cullen's who assisted in the investigation of the convict's then-suspected homicides. After asking Charles Cullen to come clean, she obtained and recorded his confession. He was arrested in 2003 using this information.
Noah Emmerich as Tim Braun
Noah Emmerich (@NoahEmmerich) received several nominations for his performance as a supporting actor in The Americans, as well as for his roles in Little Children, Super 8, Beautiful Girls, The Spy, and The Truman Show. He'll next be seen in an episode of The Big Cigar, a TV miniseries.
In The Good Nurse, he plays detective Tim Braun, who worked with Danny Baldwin and Amy Loughren to solve the case of Charles Cullen's twisted killing spree. When a wave of patient deaths in the area was discovered for no apparent reason, two Jersey detectives investigated and discovered that many of them had extremely high doses of drugs in their systems.
Nnamdi Asomugha as Danny Baldwin
Nnamdi Asomugha is an actor, producer, and former NFL player who played for the Oakland Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles, and San Francisco 49ers. He is married to Kerry Washington, who starred in The School for Good and Evil and Scandal.
Meanwhile, he is no stranger to the crime genre, having appeared as a recurring character in When the Streetlights Go Out and in the film Crown Heights, for which he received a nomination at the 2018 Film Independent Spirit Awards. In The Good Nurse, he plays detective Danny Baldwin, who investigates the Charles Cullen case with his partner, Tim Braun, and Amy Loughren.
Kim Dickens as Linda Garran
Kim Dickens (@kimdickens) is well-known for her roles in the television series Sons of Anarchy, Deadwood, Friday Night Lights, and Fear the Walking Dead. The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Films nominated her twice for Best Actress on Television the latter. She also appeared in Gone Girl.
The actress plays the hospital manager in The Good Nurse with whom Cullen and Loughren worked together. At the start of the movie, we see her introducing Amy Loughren to the detectives who will be leading the investigation. By cooperating with the officers, she will also play an important role in proving Charles Cullen's guilt.
