As per Kim-Joy and Some Others, the Bake Squad’s Leftovers Are Eaten by the Crew, or by the Chefs Themself, but Are Not Wasted!
Our curiosity regarding Bake Squad‘s leftovers, was finally satisfied when Kim-Joy, a former contestant, made an appearance on The Big Fat Quiz Of The Year at the tail end of 2018. The GBBO finalist explained what happened to all the leftovers after each show had been recorded. When Jimmy Carr inquired about the leftovers, she responded as follows:
The crew will eat it. They all converge on the bake because they’d know the best ones.
As per Metro, the filmmaking team also consumes the remaining cooked food after sharing all leftovers with the youngsters in the crew, who may be paid less. Many members of the crew carry their own sets of silverware to the program. However, if something has been contaminated, it is discarded. She said,
There’s very little of that.
Additionally, after each challenge, the show donates any items that are no longer needed to missions, shelters, or food banks. Faenia Moore, the show’s chief home economist, verified Kim-admission Joy’s while also revealing that the competitors get to sample their concoctions. She also revealed to BBC Good Food that following each challenge, the bakers consume the creations they’ve labored over.
She also mentioned that when the chefs are in the kitchen and remove ingredients they ultimately decide not to use, those products may get put back in the freezer, refrigerator, or on the shelves, in the hopes that the chefs may utilize them in a subsequent challenge. The team occasionally has access to leftovers.
Additionally, any leftovers are included in the crew’s lunch. Everyone becomes quite thrilled. The contestants unquestionably assist in making sure nothing is wasted. She claimed in an interview with Digital Spy that the other participants most definitely flock over the food as well, not just the cameramen. So, that’s resolved.
Since the show shows a shot of a Whole Foods storefront when participants go grocery shopping, viewers can see where the contestants frequently purchase their food. To be fair, Bake Squad was filmed in Hollywood, Southern California, as it is produced by the old school, a top producer of unscripted and reality content in the entertainment industry, and it involves bakers from all over the country. However, the supermarket chain does not carry everything. The program wants to buy locally whenever it travels to a new area and talks with farmers and other food suppliers.
