Who Provides Voiceover for Netflix’s Too Hot to Handle? Meet Desiree Burch, Narrator of the Show!

Desiree Burch provides the voiceover for Netflix’s Too Hot to Handle. Burch’s sarcastic comments as the show’s narrator make the show an absolute hoot. Desiree Burch is a Los Angeles-based American comedian, actor, and writer whose appearances on Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week, and The Mash Report may be familiar to you.

The reality dating program Too Hot to Handle on Netflix has a unique twist. An attractive group of single people prepares for a s*xless summer in which there would be no kissing, caressing, or s*xual fulfillment; this scene was inspired by the Seinfeld episode named The Contest. Of course, at first, they don’t know the rules, so we get to enjoy their surprise and suffering.

The fourth season of Too Hot to Handle on Netflix introduces fans to a new ensemble of s*x-obsessed, single twenty-somethings. The only problem with them being so ready for action is that they aren’t allowed to participate in s*xual behavior on the show or in any other types of physical contact, such as kissing or vigorous caressing. Over the past few seasons, viewers have often seen the casts break the rules, and Season 4 is no exception. Despite a few missteps, some people have connected at the beach, and some couples might still be together.

Most dating programs feature a charming host who guides the participants through their trip while giving us background information and voiceover, but Too Hot to Handle is presented by Lana, an artificial intelligence system that is both charming and caustic. Similar to Alexa or Echo, this white, cone-shaped virtual robot has purple-blue lights that come on anytime she chooses to speak. So who provides the voice-over to the contestants?

Previously we touched on Dominique Defoe.

Desiree Burch Provides the Voiceover for Netflix’s Too Hot to Handle; The Comedian’s Sarcastic Comments as the Show’s Narrator Make It an Absolute Hoot!

Desiree Burch (@destheray) is the narrator and provides voiceover in Netflix’s Too Hot to Handle. We are all familiar with Burch as the voice of Too Hot to Handle. Burch’s sarcastic comments as the show’s narrator make the show an absolute hoot. She is a Los Angeles-based American comedian, actor, and writer whose appearances on Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week, and The Mash Report may be familiar to you.

Despite being a virtual assistant, Lana—a white, cone-shaped robot with purple-blue lights is the one who directs the group. The comedian Desiree Burch provides Lana’s voice. Desiree Burch is the one who helps the group members realize that emotional ties have greater importance than they previously realized. She plays the position of a teacher who keeps a close check on everything with figurative eyes to make sure the cast doesn’t breach any rules.

Unfortunately, Desiree does not play a part in Lana’s character or her operations in this interesting series. There seems to be more drama in each episode of Too Hot to Handle than in the one before it. It’s tough to turn away due to the unexpected exits, shady makeout sessions, and general buck-wildness.

Not shocking at all. Since receiving a Funny Women Stage Award in 2015, Desiree has been stunning audiences around the UK. Since then, she has made appearances on several BBC programs, including Desiree Burch Live, her own Comedy Central special, and Flinch on Netflix.

According to her website, Desiree received a B.A. in theater studies from Yale University. She engaged in performance art and experimental theater when she was there. On The Jonathan Ross Show in 2019, Desiree revealed that she had worked as a dominatrix in her early 20s. She chuckled,

It’s one of those things I wanted to say I had done. I got paid to beat guys up, which is what every woman desires.

Desiree Burch frequently appears on comedic programs like Live at the Apollo, Mocks the Week, and The Mash Report, so you might have seen her on one of those. She provided the voice for Welcome to Night Vale; therefore, she was a perfect fit for the Too Hot to Handle narrator. The most enjoyable aspect of Seasons 1, 2, and 3 was undoubtedly her sarcastic remark, which was paired with virtual assistant Lana’s robotic observations. However, Desiree’s outstanding voice-acting skills aren’t the only thing that makes her a perfect fit for the Netflix series.

Unf—kable was Desiree’s debut performance, which she gave back in 2017, and it soon rose to prominence. In the fall of 2021, a stand-up special recording was made available on Amazon Prime. That’s fantastic news for those who might just be learning more about her as their obsession with Too Hot to Handle grows.
