His co-star, David Schwimmer, previously said in July they were planning to start shooting, but things had been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Schwimmer, who portrayed Ross Geller on the famous sitcom, told Jimmy Fallon they had to “wait until it’s safe.” Friends co-creator Marta Kauffman said they were seeking a live audience for the special episode.
Friends Reunion Special will start filming in March 2021.
When the reunion was delayed last spring, Kaufman told Entertainment Tonight:
This is a show that is not scripted, but this is the way the show works.

The shooting will be held at the original sound stage of the series, Stage 24, at Warner Bros in Burbank, California. It airs on HBO Max on a date that is yet to be confirmed.
