Jensen Ross Ackles, better known as Jensen Ackles, is a well-known Hollywood actor and one of the world’s most famous celebrities. Previously, we touched on the stories of Denise Van Outen and Shacarri Richardson.
Jensen Ackles Doesn’t Seem to Be Homophobic!
Many fans were against Jensen Ackles, (@jensenackles) considering him to be homophobic. He is best known for his role as Dean Winchester in the CW series Supernatural. Through his films and television series, he has gained a great deal of respect and fame over the years. But also with the fame, he is getting several criticisms.
An academic article released in 2016 by Joseph Brennan, a lecturer in media and communications at the University of Sydney, fueled speculation that actor Jensen Ackles is homophobic. He did textual research on the show for the piece during a seven-year span, from 2007 to 2014. He thinks of Ackles’ Dean Winchester in terms of “a certain hegemonic view of masculinity and heterosexuality. This, he claims, contradicts fans’ “homoerotic readings” of the show. So the discussion about the TV star’s homophobia, or lack thereof, raged long before.

As a result, several claim that the defensive and aggressive posturing of DataLounge participants can be interpreted as a case study of what they call the “politics of slash. Such politics highlight some of the key pieces of ‘proof’ given for his homophobia, such as his refusal to discuss subtext at fan conventions.
While Jensen Ackles is the spark that ignited the argument, supporters feel that what is most fascinating is the insight provided into slash as a fan practice and the subcultural groups most influenced and stimulated by this debate, notably male homosexuals and slash fans.
The study sheds fresh light on slash and subcultural fame by examining the practice as it is produced through the argument about a TV star’s alleged homophobia, a debate framed by specific ‘politics’ of representation, visibility, and identification. All these things led fans to believe that he might be homophobic, but it doesn’t seem to be true.
Jensen Ackles Is a Supporter of the LGBTQ+ Community and Not Homophobic!
During the J2 panel at NJCon, a fan decided to ask an impolite question to Jensen Ackles and it was impolite since she was already drawing conclusions from the question itself. The actor could see where the question was headed. It had happened previously, and this man, didn’t need to deal with fanning garbage. So he turned her off and moved on.

Now, he’s obviously a homophobe because he didn’t fall all over himself to please her and because he didn’t want to destroy his entire day by shutting down the question [because that was the first question they got]. Fans have stepped up to defend him. Claims of homophobia have been refuted on the grounds that his aunt is gay, which he presumably doesn’t mind. Quora users have also rallied to his assistance. User Jasmine Cook remarked;
I haven’t seen him be anything but supportive of the LGBTQA+ community. I watched him take photos with people holding flags, then hug them and say. Go you. This appeared to be genuine, genuine, and passionate. Another person stated that he supports LGBTQ people. He has been an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community.
He didn’t used to appreciate the imaginary ship Destiel, which is where some crazed ‘fans’ falsely labeled him. In reality, he has shown a lot of support for the LGBTQ+ community, such as when he voiced support for Orlando following the Pulse nightclub shooting. People who go to conventions are taking ‘coming out’ photos with him and gushing about how supportive he is. They made such a big deal about Jensen Ackles being a homophobe that an academic report was prepared about it. Also, in the film Blonde, he played Patrick Dempsey‘s bisexual lover.
