Prince Louis Appears So Grown-up as He Perfects the Royal Wave at the Air Show!
On 14 July 2023, Prince Louis of Wales attended a royal engagement with his parents, and we can’t believe how mature he looked. The Prince and Princess of Wales’ five-year-old son accompanied his parents and siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, to the Royal International Air Tattoo in Fairford, where the children were treated to a day of jets, helicopters, and ancient planes.

Prince Louis appeared to be taking the event seriously, dressed in a stylish navy jumper, white shirt, and navy chino shorts as he and his family met top members of the RAF. In one photo, he is seen waving – the cutest royal wave – as he rides in a vehicle on a C17 jet, which must have been a thrilling experience for the child. The C17 aircraft was used to transport the late Queen Elizabeth II‘s casket in the days leading up to her funeral in September.
We’re used to seeing Louis make hilarious faces at royal engagements with his parents, but today the youngest Wales was on his best behavior with his siblings. He also walked away from his parents without clutching their hands, indicating his growing maturity. After finishing his first year at the exclusive Berkshire school, Lambrook, near his family’s residence in Windsor, the monarch begin Year 1 in September.
The Royal International Air Tattoo is the world’s largest military air display, held in July each year to benefit The Royal Air Force Charitable Trust. In 2016, William and Kate took George to the air show soon before his third birthday, with the child wearing ear defenders. However, no Wales children were seen using ear protectors on July 14.
