Lola Rodriguez Daz (@lolarodriguez), a Spanish model and actress who is also known as an activist for the LGBT community, is transgender in real life. Born November 26, 1998,  in Gran Canaria, Spain, the Welcome to Eden cast officially accepted herself as a woman when she was eleven years old, and she began her transition process at the age of thirteen with the assistance of her parents.

Meanwhile, she studied Psychology at Madrid’s Autonomous University, which she now combines with acting. She was the first minor transsexual candidate for Queen of the Carnival of Las Palmas in 2015, with the fantasy Life is Beautiful, sponsored by the Cabildo de La Palma and following in the footsteps of Isabel Torres, who ran in 2005. Lola was appointed as the fourth maid of honor.

Lola Rodriguez also read a speech at the LGBT Pride march in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria the same year. In 2018, as part of the scheduled festivities for the LGBT Pride celebration in Madrid, donned a dress dubbed the Amsterdam Rainbow Dress, which was fashioned with the flags of countries where being a member of the LGBT community is illegal. Mayka joined Eden on her own, unlike the other members. People outside of Eden had questioned and threatened her gender identity. However, she was accepted for who she was at Eden. She contacted the island and offered to help with their technological installation for a few nights after discovering Eden and learning what they were up to.

She later became a permanent resident. She recalls Astrid saying the first thing she spoke to her, “Welcome to Eden, Mayka.” She had the impression that she was immediately accepted for who she was.
