Paul Bettany is best known to the broader audience for his role as J.A.R.V.I.S. and Vision in multiple MCU movies. The actor was born on 27th May 1971 in London, to Roman Catholic parents Thane Bettany (father), a dancer/actor/drama teacher, and Anne Bettany (mother), stage singer/manager, and theatre teacher.

Bettany later turned atheist, and when he was 16, his younger brother tragically passed away aged 8. Matthew lost his life following an accident when he fell from a tennis pavilion at Queenswood to a concrete floor. After this incident, Paul dropped out of school and began to perform as a busker with his guitar in the streets of London.
