Jennifer Connelly used to be a child model featuring in magazines, newspapers, and television ads before she made the leap into Hollywood. She was born on 12th December 1970 in Cairo, New York in the Catskill Mountains, to parents Ilene Connelly (Jewish mother), an antique dealer, and Gerard Karl Connelly (Roman Catholic father), a clothing manufacturer.

Raised in Brooklyn Heights, the actress went to an arts-oriented private school called Saint Ann’s. The family later moved to Woodstock, New York, in 1976 since her father was an asthma patient, and he needed to get away from the intense city pollution.

Following her graduation from high school, Jennifer attended Yale University in 1988. Two years later, she attended Stanford University in 1990 to study drama.

Jennifer and Paul first met on the set of a biographical drama film titled A Beautiful Mind (2001). Remarkably, Bettany proposed to Connelly without ever dating. The actor couldn’t help but express his feelings following the September 11 attacks.
