The Ultimatum: Queer Love on Netflix, hosted by JoAnna Garcia Swisher, puts queer relationships to the test by giving one individual an ultimatum: propose or end the relationship. Each participant temporarily breaks up with their significant other, goes on dates, and selects a new partner from the other participating couples to begin a trial marriage in order to gain a fresh perspective on their relationships and what they want out of life as well as a partner.
Sam Mark appears on the show alongside her partner, Aussie Chau. The couple met as members of an online social club during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, and they've been together ever since. But, while Sam is eager to marry and start a family, Aussie isn't convinced marriage is in the cards.

But we know that the Asian-American television star was born and raised in the United States. However, she has yet to reveal any information about her parents or siblings.

Aussie, on the other hand, is hesitant to make that commitment and believes they should first live together for at least five years. During the pandemic, the pair met in an online LGBTQ social group.
They characterized their initial meeting as something out of a movie. They went on to explain that it was as if the universe had brought them together, saying, “Time stood still. Yeah, it was just magical. Like butterflies and rainbows and unicorns."

Despite Sam Mark's long friendship with Aussie and their ten-year age difference, she was ready to marry. She entered the show with the hopes of finally convincing her spouse to fully commit to her. She offered Aussie an ultimatum: either marry her or break up. However, on the show, each participant would engage in a trial marriage with a new partner from one of the other couples. At the end of the experiment, each participant will decide whether to marry their first partner, break up, or pursue a genuine relationship with the partner with whom they were in a trial marriage.
Additionally, Tiff Der (@tiff.der) becomes open about what they have already learned from the process after learning that their initial partner chose Aussie following Mildred Woody's (@mildredbustillo_) ultimatum. That list includes the methods she needs to learn how to express love and deal with relationship challenges. Sam Mark's lack of judgment on their dates is what drew Tiff to her, therefore that is the decision she makes. Sam wants to spend the next few weeks with Tiff, who is grappling with the possibility of losing Mildred, after a series of profound dialogues that resulted in the beginning of some progress. They are the final new pair.
The Ultimatum: Queer Love moves on to the next stage of the experience as the new couples begin their trial weddings. Will these individuals select their first partners, themselves, or new partners?
