Megan O’Cain From Next in Fashion Season 2: The New York City-Based Designer Specializes in Creating New Overly Dramatic Shapes in Womenswear by Fusing Nostalgia With 1960S Sewing Techniques!

Megan O'Cain (@_meganocain) from Next in Fashion Season 2 is a New York City-based designer who discovered her passion for fashion as a child while dressing up in vintage clothing. According to her Netflix biography, designing has always felt like a way for her to escape the struggles she faces with anxiety, which has ultimately allowed her to create a space for play and possibility. Her designs combine early childhood nostalgia and 1960s sewing techniques to create new exaggerated silhouettes in womenswear.

The rising designer earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion/Apparel Design from Parsons School of Design - The New School. Her pieces are heavily influenced by her love of bright colors and busy patterns. She also does hand knitting, sewing, and embroidery in addition to her artwork.

Megan is still new to the fashion industry despite having extraordinary talents and a fantastic kook style combined with fantasy and out-of-this-world aesthetic. She has only had professional experience as an intern with other small brands. Nonetheless, she has her own unique and aesthetically pleasing fashion brand, where she sells quirky products.

The Parsons School of Design alumna derives great joy from her whimsical designs, which frequently elicit strong feelings of nostalgia. Megan's designs, which are inspired by the 1960s, frequently include handmade elements that add to the appeal of that particular style. Because of her efforts while enrolled in her BFA program, she was one of 25 candidates for the 2019 Eyes on Talent Award. We wish Megan the best of luck in her career and hope to see her name emblazoned in gold letters on the covers of fashion magazines.

Megan O'Cain is without a doubt one of the most creative and talented designers working today. Her style is not only unique and fresh but also so out-of-the-box that it catches you off guard. When Megan creates, we see her heart and soul reflected in her work.

Her bright pink hair with light green undertones carried through almost all of her looks. The designer's vision is brought to life by these iconic styles combined with fun colors. Megan had been confident in her distinct style since the first Royalty episode. Her vision was to create a traditional royal gown with 70s elements, with disco royalty Abba as her inspiration.

Megan injected a lot of volume into the look with a chic collar and balloon sleeves. She emerged as one of the strongest contestants, intimidating the others. Megan truly deserved the British Vogue Cover compliment in the second challenge. Along with Bao, James, Amari, and Godoy, she was a member of the winning team. However, since the third challenge, fans could see her struggling to understand the assignments completely, and her styles were sadly downgraded. As a result, the judges wished she had given the game more thought.

The designer's outfit didn't land as well as she had hoped in the third Thrift challenge, and the top of the style came across as juvenile, according to host Tan. We didn't see a strong Megan in the fifth challenge, Collaboration when he was paired with Deontré Hancock (@deontre____).

Their collaborative Streetwear Through The Looking Glass look didn't quite hit the mark. Despite the fact that she was not eliminated in the sixth episode, Megan's Meta Gala look was almost good but lacked the wow factor. Unfortunately, she was eliminated in the 'Swimwear' team challenge of episode 7, and the judges and other contestants bid her farewell with heavy hearts.
