The show is set in Warsaw, and the names of the characters are changed to fit the new surroundings.
The Woods follows Pawel Kopinski, who is a reputed prosecutor working in Warsaw. Before he starts on the case of his lifetime, his past comes back to haunt him. When Pawel was young, his sister went missing, and he never recovered from the incident. The discovery of a body brings it all back for Pawel, and when he goes digging this time, the answers he finds are more than shocking, something that will call into question everything.
