Alfre Woodard

Alfre Woodard is an American actress, producer, and political activist. She was born on 8th November 1952 in Tulsa, Oklahoma as the youngest sibling among the three children. Her parents are Constance and Marion H. Woodard, a homemaker and an interior designer, respectively.

The actress was once nominated for an Oscar and Grammy Award. Moreover, she was nominated 18 times in the Emmys, winning four of them. Impressively, she’s also won a Golden Globe Award and three Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Alfre Woodard and Roderick Spencer got married in 1983. Despite criticisms and mockery towards the interracial marriage at the time, the couple persevered and turned themselves into one of the strongest couples in Hollywood.

The pair’s long lasting relationship can be credited to their good understanding and amazing chemistry. As a matter of fact, Spencer attends every event to support his wife. Likewise, Alfre claims she started living only after meeting Roderick.

Woodard chose an acting path thanks to a nun, and she’s pretty grateful for it. She’s always loved acting, however, Alfre feels the icing on the cake was the introduction of Spencer, who she claims is the rock of her life.
