Don raised the question to Diane in January 2020, and she accepted his marriage proposal. He proposed with a five-carat round brilliant cut diamond ring. This occurred while they were strolling in the sunset in Malibu, California. Felder was drawn to the location because it was close to where he co-composed the music for the Eagles' 1976 hit Hotel California according to People.
Following the proposal, Don Felder surprised his them-fiancee with an engagement moon at Mexico's Chable Maroma resort. According to an insider close to the couple said that Don was so in love with Diane and she filled his heart every day in every way with love and joy.
Moreover, Diane was beyond excited to be engaged to the love of her life. Their friends and family were thrilled for their happiness. Things looked to be going well after that and the rocker was set to walk down the aisle once again. Then the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world.
In these circumstances, Diane had to discharge her obligations to her daughter from her previous marriage. And she had no choice but to stay with her. She couldn't meet Don for months due to a lack of safe transportation between the two places. All of this created difficulties, so they decided to split up peacefully.

Diane was in New York City, while Done was in California.
