Marah’s Wedding in Firefly Lane: Who Does She Marry?

Firefly Lane Season 2 Part 2 gave us a quick glimpse at Marah's wedding and it turns out she got married to Emily in 2016, 10 years after Tully died due to cancer.

Part 2 of Firefly Lane Season 2 has finally arrived on Netflix and fans are going crazy for it. When Part 1 was released in December 2022, most viewers breezed through the program. After a four-month wait, viewers can now watch how Tully and Kate's story ends in the remaining episodes of the season finale.

Kate learns she has advanced breast cancer towards the conclusion of Season 2 Part 1. She can't help but think of Tully after receiving her awful medical news, but they don't get along right now. Kate hurries to Tully's apartment when she realizes she needs someone to depend on, but it's too late—Tully has already gone and is off to Antarctica.

With the release of Season 2 Part 2, the series not only shows how it ends for Tully and Kate, but it also gives us a little glimpse of Marah's future. Who does she marry? Well, here's everything you need to know about Marah's wedding.

Previously, we touched on Ali Skovbye’s Wikipedia, and Firefly Lane's new episode.

Firefly Lane: Even Though the Series Does Not Show Much About Marah’s Wedding, It Appears He Got Married to Emily!

A teaser for a wedding in the second half of Firefly Lane season 2 was provided by Netflix at the end of Part 1. The teaser seemed to imply that Tully would be getting married, presumably to Johnny, thanks to some cunning deception. The possibility of a Johnny/Tully wedding surprised viewers because the last time we saw Johnny, he and Kate were finally reviving their marriage. However, the final set of episodes quickly disproves that notion. The anticipated wedding was really for Marah!

The wedding scenario resumes in Episode 13, although Tully is now wearing a maroon dress rather than the white slip she had been wearing earlier. Marah walks into the room wearing a bridal gown, revealing that she is the one being married.

In a different scenario, Kate and Tully discuss while gazing into a mirror and thinking about the important day that lies ahead. Tully goes to answer the door when there is an unexpected knock. We understand Kate has passed away from her cancer as she turns to gaze in the mirror and finds Kate has gone.

It turns out, Kate passed away in 2006 and Marah did not get married until 2016. Despite Kate's absence, she still has Tully, Johnny, and the rest of her family, which is a blessing on her special day.

We don't see much of Marah's wedding day because the last seven episodes didn't spend a lot of time in 2016. The only time Marah's partner is revealed is in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it scene in season 2, episode 16, which happens immediately when Marah and Emily are having their picture taken by Johnny and Sean.

Firefly Lane Season 3: Will the Show Get Renewed?

Unfortunately, there won't be Season 3 of Firefly Lane. Showrunner Maggie Friedman previously said in an interview with Tudum that the second season's two episodes enabled the writers to conclude the tale of Kate and Tully in their own way.

Talking about why she decided to end the show in Season 2 with Glamour, Friedman explained,

It was an ongoing conversation between myself and Netflix. Originally, season two was just going to be 10 episodes, but I was talking to one of the Netflix executives who’s been such a great champion of the show and said, 'I know where the end of the story is. I know exactly what I want it to be. I just want to make sure that we get there and don’t end on a cliffhanger and then something happens and we don’t complete it.' I wanted to make sure that I got to tell the full story.
