Is Bad Bunny Bisexual? What Is His Sexuality?

Bad Bunny has always been suspected of being bisexual, especially after kissing both his female and male dancers in the music video of his song, Caro. While the 28-year-old rapper hasn’t talked openly about his sexuality, he has indicated that he likes both men and women. Additionally, the Puerto Rican star has long been an ally of the LGBTQ community.

Benito Antonio Martnez Ocasio (born March 10, 1994) is a Puerto Rican rapper and singer better known as Bad Bunny. His musical style is primarily defined as Latin trap and reggaeton, with influences from other genres. He shot to fame in 2016 with his song Diles, which landed him a deal with Hear This Music.

His big break came in 2018 when he appeared on Cardi B‘s number-one song I Like It with J Balvin and his top-ten song Mia with Drake. Later, Rimas Entertainment released his debut album, X 100pre, in December 2018, and it peaked at number 11 on the US Billboard 200. In June 2019, he released his collaborative album Oasis with J Balvin, which peaked at number nine on the Billboard 200.

Over the years, Bad Bunny is frequently seen criticizing homophobia in the music industry and includes gay people in his music videos. In 2019, a man kissed him in his Caro video. Some people believe he is bisexual. Well, how true is that? Let’s find it out.

Bad Bunny’s Sexuality: Even Though the 28-Year-Old Rapper Ha Yet to Admit Being Bisexual, He Has Frequently Shown Interest to Both Men and Women Time & Again!

Rapper Bad Bunny has long been an LGBTQ ally, but he’s never spoken publicly about his own sexuality – until now. Even though he has never claimed to be bisexual, he once mentioned that he liked women at that time. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, the Puerto Rican recording star discussed the subject, saying that he, like many members of his generation, sees himself as fluid. He stated,

At the end of the day, I don’t know if in 20 years I will like a man. One never knows in life. But at the moment I am heterosexual and I like women.

The word “at the moment” strongly hints that he might have been with a man in the past or that his preference might change in the future. It seems the rapper is bisexual and dates people accordingly.

In the same interview, he also explained why it’s important to him to include queer and disenfranchised people in his work, saying that “there are people who listen to reggaeton and love it and at the same time they have never felt represented within it.”

The 28-year-old rapper, who is one of the world’s most-streamed artists, has long supported the LGBTQ community. He has featured same-sex couples and transgender women in his videos; he was a leader in protests against Puerto Rico’s governor and his attitudes toward gender and sexuality; and on social media, he has praised women who do not shave their body hair, called out a nail salon that refused to serve him, and criticized reggaeton star Don Omar for making homophobic comments. He tweeted, “Homophobia in this day and age? How embarrassing, loco.”

The release of his music video, Caro, sparked speculation that Bad Bunny himself would show up. In the video, the rapper gets his nails done while watching a fashion show before transforming into a female version of himself played by model Jazmyne Joy. He later returns, kissing both his female and male selves. This is where it all started.

The singer received widespread acclaim for his performance of Tit Me Preguntó at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards. However, the incident sparked accusations of queerbaiting, which the dictionary defines as “the practice of implying non-heterosexual relationships or attraction to engage or attract an LGBTQ audience or otherwise generate interest without ever actually depicting such relationships or sexual interactions.”

The following year, on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Bad Bunny brought up the murder of Alexa, a trans woman in Puerto Rico. During a performance of his single Ignorantes, the rapper wore a skirt and a sweater that read, “They killed Alexa, not a man with a skirt,” referencing the various news reports that misgendered the victim.

Bad Bunny’s Musical Style and Influences!

Bad Bunny (@badbunnypr) is primarily known as a Latin trap and reggaeton artist. According to Rolling Stone, Bad Bunny sings and raps in a conversational tone, with a low, slurry tone, viscous melodies, and a rapper’s cadence. Héctor Lavoe, Vico C, Romeo Santos, Juan Luis Guerra, Elvis Crespo, Ricky Martin, Juan Gabriel, Daddy Yankee, and Marc Anthony have all been mentioned as influences by Bad Bunny over the years.

He considers himself a music fanatic, which is why he is influenced by so many people. He discussed Ricky Martin‘s legacy for Latin music and Latin artists on an episode of Behind the Music, and how Martin changed the music landscape for future Latin artists.

In the music video for Neverita, Bad Bunny paid homage to the Suavemente music video by Puerto Rican artist Elvis Crespo, leaving a message at the end translated from Spanish as “In honor of the best video of all time”. Elvis Crespo later felt honored by his tribute and ended up performing a merengue version of the song at the 2022 Latin Billboard Music Awards.
