Jidenna Theodore Mobisson (born May 4, 1985) is an American rapper and singer who goes by the moniker Jidenna. He released two singles in 2015, Classic Man and Yoga, to promote Wondaland Records' compilation EP, The Eephus (2015), with Epic Records. Likely, his debut album, The Chief, was released on February 17, 2017, and peaked at number 38 on the Billboard 200.
Jidenna was born in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, to accountant Tama Mobisson and Nigerian Igbo academic Oliver Mobisson. He spent part of his childhood in Nigeria, where his father was a computer science professor at Enugu State University. Jidenna's family returned to the United States when he was six years old. The family relocated to Norwood, Massachusetts, in 1995, and then to Milton in 2000. His father passed away in 2010.

Jidenna's girlfriend, Rosalyn, is an American and Nigerian Games telecaster. She was born on April 28, 1987, in Sovereigns, New York, USA, and is currently 34 years old. Rosalyn attended Diocese supervisor Molloy Secondary School in Briarwood, New York, and played basketball there. The group had won two state championships, but Jidenna's better half's senior year was cut short due to a knee injury.

People be surprised by how the woman initiates a lot of stuff. I’m not poly, but when everybody heard that me and my husband had threesomes before, they were like, ‘She’s willing to do that to keep a man,’ but that was all me! This is because men are looked at as hunters.
He stated that when he first became polyamorous, he was looking for sexual experiences. This was short-lived. He explained, “When I first started I had the basic dream of threesomes. But then I realized I really wanted to have a romantic relationship with another woman.”
According to Jidenna, polyamory must be decided upon at the outset of the relationship. He stated that he and his current girlfriend are not polyamorous at the moment, but she is interested in it. He is currently in an exclusive relationship with a woman who had two boyfriends when he met her. He stated,
Right now, people look at me and [my exclusive partner], and they’re like ‘Wow, y’all are monogamous.’ and I’m like – maybe! But we reserve the right to evolve. Our agreement has license to change; we can change whenever we want.
Jidenna believes that more people are engaging in polyamory but are unaware of it. The American-Nigerian R&B Singer explained,
I believe that most of us are out here dating and if you’re not in like an exclusive partnership with someone then its like kind of a form of polyamory. It’s just not as explicitly put.
