After getting canceled in 2017, Fox resurrected Last Man Standing, and now it looks like this wonderful sitcom will end with season 9.
Last Man Standing starring Tim Allen is nearing its end as season 9 will be the last. Developed by Jack Burditt, the show stars Mike Baxter (Allen), an American family man and director at a Sports Store in Colorado.
As a dad of three daughters, Mike must manage his job and family life while upholding his pride in the female household. The sitcom also features Nancy Travis as Mike’s wife Vanessa, Amanda Fuller as Kristin Baxter, Kaitlyn Dever as Eve Baxter, and Molly Ephraim as Mandy Baxter (later replaced by Molly McCook in the 7th season).

The series originally aired on ABC till season 6 prior to the network unexpectedly confirming its cancelation in 2017. The news broke as a blow to viewers, given that it was ABC’s second most popular sitcom behind Modern Family.
After the termination, CMT had been in negotiations to pick up the program, but the network was not able to pay the cost of production.
After an enormous outcry from fans who launched an online petition of nearly half a million signatures, the Fox series was resurrected for the 2018 fall season.

The show broadcasted for two more seasons on Fox, and it has recently been confirmed to be extended for the ninth season. However, following the conclusion of season 9, fans will be bidding farewell to the sitcom once and for all.
According to Variety, Fox reveals the ninth season of Last Man Standing will be the final edition. The show will run for 194 episodes after season 9, which is set to start shooting this week and debut in January 2021.
Allen said,
I’ve been one lucky dude to have been part of Last Man Standing. I so appreciate the incredible support from our fans over this near-decade of work. As we approach the ninth season,
The actor continued,
I just admire and feel grateful for all the hard work our wonderful cast and crew have done. We had all considered to end the show after last season, but together with Fox, we decided to add a year so we could produce a full season to create the gentle and fun goodbye. I’m looking forward to a memorable and hilarious final season.
The confirmation of Last Man Standing bidding farewell is more bittersweet than the statement it ended for the first time.
Although it’s normal for a sitcom to last as long as nine seasons, this show had a fairly amazing run. It’s good to know that fans could carry such an effect on saving their beloved TV shows, just as Brooklyn Nine-Nine was following its original cancelation in 2018.
