Laura Ingraham was born in Glastonbury, Connecticut, on June 19, 1963. Her parents, James Frederick Ingraham III and Anne Caroline, raised her and her siblings in a middle-class home. She excelled academically from a young age and attended Glastonbury High School, where she was involved in a variety of extracurricular activities.

Ingraham completed her study at Dartmouth College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Russian with a minor in English.
