Stranger Things is undisputedly one of the most popular shows on Netflix right now. After the fascinating first three seasons, fans couldn’t be more eager for the new season to commence already. However, the ongoing worldwide pandemic has put question marks over its future.
With the recent news of Netflix halting production to every show and movie on the streaming platform, there are lots of questions that need answering.
When will Stranger Things Season 4 Release?
Netflix announced season 4 of Stranger Things officially receiving the green light in September 2019. Recently on Valentine’s Day 2020, the streaming platform confirmed the production for the fourth season is officially underway.
The creators, Duffer Brothers wrote:
Season 4 is shaping up to be the biggest and most frightening season yet, and we cannot wait for everyone to see more. In the meantime — pray for the American. From Russia with love.
Stranger Things season 4 was initially expected to release towards the late 2020 or early 2021. However, the recent widespread panic caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) is putting the show under risk to be pushed further back.
The entire production is currently on hold for two weeks. However, only an extreme optimist will genuinely believe the normal service resumes within the stated time frame. With COVID-19 unlikely to slow down anytime soon, it’s more likely the filming resumes a few months down the line with the threat of coronavirus minimized or eradicated.
Commencement of the entertainment business is the least of the priorities for the government during this worldwide epidemic; the safety of the public will always hold precedence. So, unless everything goes back to normal, the production will continue to be postponed.
With coronavirus not even hitting peak yet, several researchers and experts are expecting normality to resume somewhere around September. Therefore, this could potentially be the time Stranger Things resumes production.
Lots of Hollywood movies and sports events have been postponed in the last week or so. It’s a tough pill to swallow for the fans, but based on recent events, Stranger Things season 4 is most likely to air on Netflix in mid-2021.
What Happened in Stranger Things Season 3?
The summer of 1985 begins with the city of Hawkins welcoming a brand new Star Court Mall as the center of attention, driving every other competing store out of business. Joyce is looking to move out of town for better prospects in the future, while Jim Hopper is concerned over the growing friendship of Eleven and Mike.
Everything seems normal until strange power fluctuations make Will aware of something that does not belong to this world. Subsequently, Eleven and Max sense something strange is taking place amongst the town residents.
Despite the fact that the portal to the Upside Down is sealed, all of them begin fearing they’re still at risk from impending danger.

After collectively dealing with the threat of mind flayer, the season ends with Joyce’s family and (powerless) Eleven moving out of Hawkins, and Mike confessing his love for Eleven. Hopper is presumed to be dead, and Joyce hands Eleven the letter he had prepared beforehand. In the meantime, the fans loved the introduction of two brand new characters, Alexei (Alec Utgoff) and Suzie (Gabriella Pizzolo)
The final scene shows the Russian guards preparing to feed the captive Demogorgon as one of them instructs “not the American.”

Fans were delighted as their theory came true with the brand new trailer for season 4 confirming the fan-favorite Hawkins Police Chief Jim Hopper is indeed alive as a prisoner in Russia.
He is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human…and other.
Netflix added, “Meanwhile, back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long-buried, something that connects everything….”
