Back in June 2019, Archie was one of the first voice cast to be officially hired in the series. Vanity Fair reported the companion of Lyra (Dafne Keen), Pantalaimon, will be voiced by the young English actor Archie Barnes.
A couple of months later, the HBO series confirmed the list of the entire voice cast, and surprisingly, Archie's name wasn't in it. He had been replaced by another young English boy named Kit Connor, who is scheduled to voice Lyra's unsettled daemon in His Dark Materials.
