But none so as chilling as Laysla De Oliveira’s character Dodge in the Netflix series Locke & Key and we are loving this new aspect to the actress’s filmography.
Laysla De Oliveira was born on 11 January 1992 to her parents, who are of Brazilian descent, in Toronto, Canada. It wasn’t until her high school days when Laysla De Oliveira really got into acting and though it could be her profession growing up. Before acting, though, the actress was spotted by a talent agency, and she was performing as a model, but all it took was one drama class, which resulted in Laysla becoming all about acting.

The Dodge actress attended Rosedale Heights School of Arts, where she studied drama, and soon after she graduated, the actress was off to starring in movies and TV shows. Now, Laysla De Oliveira is making her mark as a villain and a terrifying one at that in the Netflix series Locke & Key.

Though the canceling part is a little harsh, still, Netflix provides opportunities for shows and movies which would’ve otherwise been shelved, and Locke & Key is one of those shows.
Bounced around from studios to studios, there was a trilogy movie deal, which fell through and also a pilot which never aired, but Netflix came to the rescue. Locke & Key deals with a mysterious house, which holds some magical keys, and when the patriarch of the family dies, the children find the keys, and the mystery of the house is there for the taking.

Laysla De Oliveira plays the character of Dodge, but she is known as Echo in the first episode of Locke & Key. Dodge is a demon who is looking to get a hold of the omega key, and she is willing to do anything for it. Dodge manipulated little Bode Locke, played by Jackson Robert Scott, and get the anywhere key.
Now, it is up to the Locke siblings, Tyler and Kinsey Locke, played by Connor Jessup and Emilia Jones respectively, to stop the demon from getting all the keys. The battle between Laysla De Oliveira’s character and the kids is what makes up the story for the first season of Locke & Key, which is currently streaming on Netflix.
Making Her Debut with Covert Affairs and Starring in Code 8 and In the Tall Grass
The first project Laysla De Oliveira was involved in after graduating from her school was in a single episode of the series Covert Affairs in 2012. The show was the actress’s first introduction into the world of show business, and she followed it up with small appearances in other movies and TV shows.
Lea to the Rescue was a successful outing for the actress, which she followed it up with a pilot for Jalen vs. Everybody, and she also starred in Canada indie hit Acquainted where she starred alongside her boyfriend. The biggest role of Laysla De Oliveira came in the Stephen King adaptation of In the Tall Grass, and she also starred in the action flick Code 8, but Locke & Key is definitely the biggest project she’s been involved in till date.
