Frolova will portray Pixi Aariak. Pixi is strange, mysterious, and inscrutable, a charismatic chameleon and probably inspired by the expression “still waters run deep.” She returns to the front of the train after a three-year sentence in the prison car and struggles to acclimate to her old life. You can’t take your eyes off of her. And you probably shouldn’t.
The post-apocalyptic dystopian series is set to air on TNT in the first half of 2020. Based on the Bong Joon-ho-directed South Korean-Czech movie of the same name and adapted from the French novel, Le Transperceneige (1982), the plot is set seven years into the future when the earth has turned into a frozen wasteland.
The remaining humanity is left inhabiting an enormous, perpetually moving train that circles the globe. Meanwhile, the show deals with issues relating to social injustice, class warfare, and the politics of survival.
