Erica Hernandez was born on 22 December 1989 to her German mother and Columbian father in Texas. She was one of four children of her parents and they were all raised in a Texas suburb. Living her teen life in the Lone Star stated, Erica moved to New York City to attend Fordham University, later graduating with a BA degree in theatre performance and Spanish language.
After graduating from Fordham University, Erica spent time at Upright Citizen's Brigade where she learned improv comedy and sketch comedy, something she has carried on doing to this day.
