Emily Spivack was born on 1 May 1978 to her parents Dennis and Marcia Spivak. She was raised by her parents in Delaware and along with her sister. Her mother survived cancer 5 times and the current President of the United States, Joe Biden, awarded her with the award of Cancer Survivor of the Year Award in 1999.
Emily had an interest in the world of clothing from a young age and later she went on to make it her career. As a writer, she talked about the importance of old clothes and the story they hold for the one keeping them. That became the focus of her book, Worn Stories, released in 2014. Emily Spivack and her husband Ian Chillag have been friends on Facebook for over a decade now. Ian recently shared a picture showing facebook's video of their 10-year anniversary celebration. So, they have been friends for over a decade now.
But the first time we saw Ian's picture on Emily's page was on 29 June 2017 as they were both in a garden, picking vegetables. While they may have been friends for a decade+ romance between the two only started in the last half-decade. Then a little romance turned into something more as they got married a little over a year later.

Surrounded by their friends and family, Emily Spivack and her husband Ian Chillag had a Jewish wedding on 4 August 2018. Every year since then without missing a beat the couple celebrates their wedding anniversary with posts on social media. As of this writing they have been married for 2 years and in August of 2021, they will hit the 3-year mark.
A year and a half after the couple got married Emily shared a post by her husband, revealing she was pregnant. On 22 December the photo surfaced and comments of congratulations poured in for the soon-to-be family-of-three. She was pregnant while filming for her book adaptation was going on.

She was nine-month pregnant before the pandemic hit and after the lockdown started the husband-wife duo revealed they have invited a new member to their family. Their daughter recently turned one-year-old during the pandemic and Emily has posted frequently how good it has been to quarantine with her husband and daughter.

And the trailer shows how different pieces of clothing have changed people's lives and the memory that old clothing has.
The series is based on a book written by Emily Spivack. The book was released in 2014 and became a New York Times Bestseller. "In the New York Times bestseller WORN STORIES (2014), Emily Spivack has collected over sixty of these clothing-inspired narratives from cultural figures and talented storytellers," as the description of the book reads.
