You probably know John Torode if you’re a fan of a cooking show. Joining as a judge in BBC One‘s MasterChef in 2005, he has since appeared in multiple other cooking shows., including John Torode’s Australia, John Torode’s Malaysian Adventure, and A Cook Abroad. Additionally, he also has many cookbooks and runs his own restaurants in London.
Born on July 23, 1965, in Melbourne, Australia, John grew up in a family of Greek and English heritage and was introduced to a wide range of cuisines from a young age. He started out in the culinary business as a chef, working at a number of restaurants in Australia and the UK. He made a permanent transfer to the UK in 1991 and took a position as head chef at the London-based Bluebird restaurant of the Conran Group. Later, in 2000, he started Smiths of Smithfield, a restaurant of his own.
On April 10, John Torode came back to our screens with the release of the 19th season of MasterChef. Even though John Torode (@johntorodecooks) tastes all the delicious foods prepared in the competition, his appearance appears to be in the opposite direction. The 57-year-old chef has been undergoing a significant weight loss transformation in recent years. And it appears he is continuously following the method he revealed about losing weight ahead of his wedding in 2019.

While most people lose weight after eating less or staying on a calorie deficit, John previously revealed to The Mirror that he started his weight loss journey after he added an extra meal into his day as he used to always skip breakfast in the past. He claimed that he lost more than 3 stone after he started following it. He explained,
The big secret, which somebody told me is the thing that all people who are very, very overweight have in common, is that they don’t eat breakfast…..I now eat breakfast and make the point of sitting down with my children, eating breakfast and starting the day well.
Eating a protein-rich breakfast may actually help to increase metabolism. Having a nutritious breakfast also helps control blood sugar levels, which helps you avoid slumps and the urge to reach for harmful snacks during the day. Dietitian Susie Burrell previously said,
While fasting regimes may work for some, if you are actually hungry in the mornings, or exercise early, breakfast remains the most important meal of the day…..And often it needs to be more substantial to keep your metabolism pumping until lunchtime.
Additionally, John Torode also revealed at that time he follows an exercise regime and frequently goes for cycling to keep himself fit. It appears he is still following the same method and his weight loss journey is not going to stop anytime sooner.

After meeting on his show Celebrity MasterChef in 2010, actress Lisa Faulkner (@lisafaulknercooks) and John Torode began dating in 2015. Lisa reported on January 7, 2019, that John had proposed to her on Christmas Day of 2018. They later got married in 2019.

Prior to their marriage, Lisa was married to Chris Coghill, her co-star from Burn It. Following their wedding in 2005, the couple adopted a 15-month-old child. However, the relationship didn’t last long and the couple divorced in 2011.
Lisa Faulkner was born in Merton, London, on February 19, 1972. She attended an all-girls school in Kingston for her education, but tragedy struck when her mother Julie passed away at the age of 16 from throat cancer. A modeling agency discovered Lisa, and by the 1990s, she was appearing in TV shows like Dangerfield.
Lisa is well known for her role as Victoria Merrick in the 43 episodes of Holby City that aired between 1999 and 2001. She has furthermore appeared in a number of long-running TV shows, such as Brookside, New Street Law, and Murder in Suburbia. After taking home the title of Celebrity MasterChef in 2010, Lisa shifted her attention to presenting TV shows, particularly food shows like What’s food? on Channel 4. She also appeared with her friend Nicola Stephenson on This Morning and Celebrity Gogglebox.
