Kwame’s Sister, Barbara Appiah From Love Is Blind, Has Been Called a Hired Contestant; Meet Her on Instagram!
According to Decider, after viewers have been introduced to Kwame‘s (@ayokwam) sister, Barbara Appiah, who has been regarded by many as dynamic and the best part of him, the two are now under criticism from netizens who allege his sister isn’t who she claims to be. Fans wonder about his sister’s Instagram, but we could not find any, although we got one account, and we are not sure if it’s hers or not as there are only 3 posts with 818 followers. After one Twitter user wrote,
TikTok is saying Kwame hired a random Ghanaian woman to play his sister, and tbh that wouldn’t surprise me #LoveIsBlindS4.
Another responded,
Brought a pod friend to suit fitting; we never actually heard his mom talk to him on the phone. Yes, he did hire her.
Kwame was also accused of faking a phone call between himself and his mother and of lying about having his own family and being secretly married. The tweet’s comment section rapidly filled up with people agreeing, pointing out how the family’s interactions were so formal and other strange occurrences.

This time, there has been some emphasis on Kwame Appiah’s Ghanaian culture, but because his family has been less than supportive, it has remained in the background. Before he could say “I do” to Chelsea, his sister Barbara and brother Jerry visited him. His sister stated he’d be a “phenomenal husband. Kwame was still concerned that his best friend (his mother) had not given her consent, but his sister told him that his father was happy and supportive of the wedding. She feels his mother will love Chelsea.

Appiah’s mother was not seen or heard on the show. Some feel that the conversation we saw with Kwame, the youngest of his family, attempting to tell his mother that he was marrying Chelsea was staged. Others believe she refused to come or have her voice heard. We can, however, learn more about Jerry and Barbara. Jerry’s LinkedIn profile indicates that he is an IT professional, although he works for Berkley County Council in Faraway West Virginia. He has previously worked in healthcare with Community Radiology Associates and as a reporting analyst for Thompson Gas in Washington, D.C. Jerry’s Facebook page reveals that he is married with children; his wife’s name is Lacey, and his kid just turned five.
Fans, such as the Twitter user (@adaenechi), are skeptical that Barbara is Kwame’s real sister. According to TikTok, Kwame recruited a random Ghanaian woman to play his sister. Things appear to be a little too fishy, especially given that this isn’t Kwame Appiah’s first reality TV show. TikTok users discovered a man who resembled Appiah from a previous season of Married at First Sight, and the video has gone viral. Despite all of the claims, Kwame Appiah has yet to comment on these rumors, but we have a feeling there will be a lot of explaining during the Love is Blind season 4 reunion on April 17th.
There are now new charges that his entire family (not just his sister) is a fraud. When a tape of Married, at First Sight, emerged online and a man who strongly resembled him was noticed by a fan, Kwame began to appear a little too shady. Some fans believe he is a reality TV clout chaser who appeared on Love Is Blind to obtain celebrity status.
