Small roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and CSI later, she got her big break in the show Family Guy where she has voiced various characters since 2005, and all in all lent her voice in 64 episodes.
While her movie career was not as stellar, she still appeared in about a dozen movies. But her first main role came in the form of Willa McPherson in the show Dirt. She also played two different characters in American Horror Story in 2011 and 2013.

Later she appeared in the acclaimed show The Walking Dead between 2015 and 2016, where she played the love interest and domestic violence victim Jessie Anderson in 11 episodes. It was hard to see her demise in the show after she and Rick were making such strides in their relationship.
The biggest role of her career to date was without a doubt her portrayal of the character of Sophie in the NBC tearjerker series This Is Us, where she was credited in 24 episodes. She most recently made an appearance in the third season’s 16th episode this year. But now she is off leading another show with the actress playing the character of Melinda Monroe in the Netflix show Virgin River.

Alexandra Breckenridge plays the character of Melinda Monroe in the series, and to be honest, she is the perfect person to play the role. Alexandra can portray the pain Melinda is feeling in the show with a gut-wrenching reality, strong determination, and unbridled charm.
Martin Henderson plays the character of Jack Sheridan, who forms a bond with Melinda in the show, and they seem to have a moment when his girlfriend, Charmaine, shows up, played by Lauren Hammersley. Annette O’Toole is also in the show playing the character if Hope McCrea along with Tim Matheson, who plays Doc Mullins, the man who does not like Melinda at all but later starts to appreciate her presence in the small town.

There is also a “chakra” or a whirlwind tattoo on her left shoulder. The tattoo looks like a fidget spinner, and the actress never particularly talked about her tattoos to make it clear as to what the whirlwind signifies.
