C – S E C T I O N S 🐣 my fellow c section sister mama @megporo posted that April is #caesarianawarenessmonth Penelope was an emergency c section after 31 hours of labor. My goal was to do the whole thing naturally, I did it for 19 hours, but then I got the epidural to give me the break I needed for pushing. After 4 hours of that, Penelope had decided she just didn’t want to come out that way, & so we were rushed off to get her out. To be honest I was pretty calm about the surgery ahead ( may have been the drugs ) I was just ready to get her out & for her to be safe in our arms. I don’t regret having a c section, my doctor let me go for as long as it was safe to do so & I didn’t feel pressured into it. Penelope latched right away, and was as happy as a clam. I grew a baby, experienced labor, had a major surgery & went right into Mama mode. I know some of us feel like we failed but looking back on my experience I feel like a badass and you should too! ♥️♥️♥️
This wonderful couple couldn’t be in a more blissful relationship. As a matter of fact, the entire family of three looks adorable together.

M O T H E R H O O D I don’t share too much about this on my feed. But I’ve seen some other mamas sharing the harder side, and I’ve appreciated not feeling like I’m the only one who sometimes feels like this isn’t going as well as some mama blog I read once at 3am. The hardest part for me has been the sleep. Before my baby came, I said, “I will never co sleep, they will sleep in a crib from day 1, I’ll breastfeed 6 months!” Hahahahaha. I regret ONE thing, not the co sleeping, not the no sleep training, not the breastfeeding for 21 months, waking constantly, buying the best under eye concealers. I regret that I didn’t enjoy it more and go with the flow. I put too much pressure on myself to get back to work (which happened anyway without the pressure) to work out everyday, to take on too much. I felt like I was missing out on something, but I didn’t know what it was, (#socialmedia FOMO) and really I was having all this beautiful time of being with her. It all worked out! It always does. Penelope needed me during those nights, it wasn’t some unnatural thing, she was small and wanted company. So would I! You always sleep again, eat again, go on a date night again, work again. I wish I hadn’t wished away the time, because now she sleeps in her own bed & I miss her. It taught me that as hard as things feel in any area of life, I never want to look back & think, I didn’t enjoy it all enough. Sure I was loopy some days, (shout out to @markobrienforeal for holding down the fort & feeding us both!) Now I look back and smile at how she slept by my side every night of her life for almost 2 years. I guess that’s how people have more babies after childbirth, the love & the wonder of children makes you forget that INSANE 31 hours😂 Love to all the mamas! ♥️ 📷: @nicolebpase
