Tom Everett Scott is married to his wife Jenni Gallagher for over two decades. The couple who were college classmates tied the knot way back in 1997. They share two kids, a son and a daughter.
Back in May 2017, Scott had an interview with Parade where he talked about his then-upcoming film Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul (2017) and admitted he and his son had read every Wimpy Kid book.
We read all of them and my son checked them out of the school library multiple times. We were really into it and our friend Steve Zahn played the dad in all three movies. When I got this appointment to read for the role, I saw the subject of the email and I thought I might be in a movie with Steve. Then I kept reading and realized they were recasting the entire family.
Recalling the road trip that went awry just like the fourth installment of the Wimpy Kid series, the actor said:
Obviously not as crazy as in the movie, but I have two kids and we’ve done the six-hour drive from Los Angeles to Mammoth. I remember those long stretches through the desert. My son would have to pee and there are no rest stops so we’d have to do that human tent barrier on the side of the road. I learned that you have to load up the car—the best thing to do is to pack the car with a portable DVD player, books, games and good music.
Meanwhile, a month later, on 2nd June 2017, the actor took to Instagram to wish his beautiful wife a happy birthday, captioning the post, “Happy Birthday to my love, @jgscott. ❤️???”
