Virgin River was not exactly something people were expecting to like, fans of the books were almost certain to be taken away by the series, but for the rest of the people, Virgin River was something like Chesapeake Shores on Hallmark Channel. Well, that is what we first thought and then watched the first episode, the second one, and soon finished the entire series in one sitting, and now we want Virgin River season 2.
We don’t know what spell the show cast over us; we even postponed the finale of Apple TV+ series SEE to finish the entire season of Virgin River. It was amazing, to say the least, a warm cozy watch, to just be with your special someone who is skeptical about the show at first and then is engrossed by the story when the end credit rolls.

Virgin River just sneaked up on us; to be honest, one day, the Netflix app was open, and the series was there, and soon it was over, and like thousands of fans worldwide, we want more. We never realized the show was coming, and seeing all the magnificent actors and the breathtaking views; we definitely want Virgin River season 2.

Multiple outlets are reporting the first season of Virgin River won’t be the last one with reports saying Virgin River season 2 filming is already underway, and they will be done with filming pretty soon. This is amazing news to hear, Netflix was a risk-taker once, and they were moving away from their past tendencies of renewing almost all their original shows.

They were also cutting some beloved shows due to cost reasons, but it seems Netflix sees the potential in the show, and the growing fan base of Virgin River to know Virgin River season 2 will be an even bigger success.

Over the past few days, the number of people reviewing the show on IMDb has grown from barely a 100 to over a 1000 and the rating went from 6.4/10 to the point where it stands now at 7.7/10 which means more people are watching the show and they like what they are seeing.
So, rejoice Virgin River fans, leaked information indicates the work on the first episode of Virgin River season 2 will be done by 17 December with the possibility of the series being available to the viewers as early as the summer.
This is probably unlikely even if season 2 is done filming because the benefit of targeting the holiday audience is better than summer viewers. So, November or December is the most likely time when Virgin River season 2 will most likely be available for streaming, and here are four possible routes we see Virgin River season 2 taking. 1. The End of Melinda Monroe and Jack Sheridan Relationship

Let’s start with the unlikeliest scenario, Melinda Monroe, played by Alexandra Breckenridge, and Jack Sheridan, played by Martin Henderson, were our first introduction into the Virgin River world when it comes to the book series by Robyn Carr and the same was the case when it comes to the series.
The first time we saw them together in the show, we knew they would become a couple, and they would be damn good partners. But like everyone would’ve guessed when Charmaine, played by Lauren Hammersley, left the letter, she was pregnant with Jack’s child. Jack should’ve told Mel, but he was afraid of losing her, and instead, she learns of the pregnancy through Hope, played by Annette O’Toole.

The revelation of a kid by Hope was a lot to take for Mel, someone who lost her child and then could not conceive, whatever she tried to do. After Jack asks her to stay and give him a chance, she tells him she needs some time, and the closing shot of season one is of her packing her bags and telling her sister, Joey, played by Jenny Cooper, she is coming home.
So, there is a possibility the two never see each other again, Robyn Carr said the show was true to her books, but there were some liberties taken by the creators of the show when it comes to adapting the first book. So, the creative team behind the series could just let go of the Mel and Jack story and focus on the events of the second book in the series Shelter Mountain.
Will Mel and Jack stop their romance in Virgin River season 2?

John ‘Preacher’ Middleton, played by Colin Lawrence, trying to help Paige Lassiter, played by Lexa Doig, would make for a good season, but again, the creators of the show already broke the continuity of the series. Paige is already an established character in the show, unlike how she was the focus of the second book by Robyn Carr along with Preacher.
The romance between Jack and Mel could be over, and they could focus on Preacher and Paige in the second season, but what is the point in establishing two likable characters in the first place and then dumping them for two side characters, we’ve barely known. If the creators of the series would’ve said the series was an anthology, then it would’ve made sense, but it doesn’t anymore, and we cannot see then getting rid of Mel and Jack after only one season.
To be honest, Jack and Mel are made for one another, and we all know they belong together. Is it possible the writers of the show move off the romance of Mel and Jack in Virgin River Season 2? Probably! But there needs to be a rhyme or reason to the fact both the broken characters ended up in Virgin River trying to find a fresh start, trying to find their ray of sunshine.
2. Dan Brady and Jack Sheridan Headed on a Collision Course in Virgin River Season 2

Dan Brady, played by Benjamin Hollingsworth, was one of the men under the command of Jack during their tour of the Middle East. A bright-eyed young soldier under the care of a grizzled veteran but one mistake and their simple mission turned into a fatal one. We are still not clear as to what transpired in Mosul, which resulted in jack suffering from PTSD and Preacher telling Brady he was the reason for the death of a soldier in Mosul.
We also learned Jack blamed himself for the death of one of his soldiers, and there is a secret which only Preacher knows. A secret which made it impossible for Preacher to trust or even talk to Brady in a friendly manner, and it seems the secret will play a big role in Virgin River season 2.

Preacher said Brady was at fault for Mosul, something Jack blamed himself for, and the guilt is also one of the reasons why he had a soft spot for Brady, always trying to make excuses for him. But things got testy when Calvin, played by David Cubitt, showed up at the bar and showed Brady how much money was in the narcotics business.
In the finale, we saw Brady get on with the growers and also learned the dumping by growers was poisoning the people. Mark also said the one place to not co-operate with his operation was the Virgin River, and he needed Brady to do something for him. This sure seems like Jack and Brady are headed for a collision course.
Whether Brady will be redeemed or Jack gives up in Virgin River season 2 is to be seen.

For the longest time, Jack hid from his past, the past where he considers himself to be responsible for the death of a young man with so much life in front of him. Brady is similar in so many ways, this was the reason why the Brady was still around in spite of all the mistakes and stealing. Jack does not want to go head to head with Brady, he is like a son of Jack but the situation will ask for something more, but it is to be seen in Virgin River season 2 whether Jack will try to redeem Brady one more time or if the finale was the final straw which broke the camel's back.
Jack does not like the growers, and he’s got a soft spot for Brady, but will the secret Preacher is holding play a role in the confrontation between Brady and Jack? It will all be revealed when Virgin River season 2 arrives on Netflix.
3. What Will Become of Paige Lassiter and John ‘Preacher’ Middleton?
Preacher found out about Paige and it is up to him to help her from her abusive husband in Virgin River season 2.

For the entirety of the first season of the Virgin River, we could see there was something brewing between Paige Lassiter and Preacher. The cook at Jack’s bar and his friend were amazing with Paige’s kid, and though Paige was trying to hide her feelings toward Preacher, everyone could see she was also starting to feel a connection towards the charming cook.
But there was something wrong with the way Paige was acting from the first time we met her. She was not willing to take cheques, forgetting about things she told Preacher before and then lying about her family. Well, Preacher finds her real name later on and also realizes she’s got a warrant out for his arrest.
Paige and her son are being chased by her husband, Preacher needs to keep his promise in Virgin River season 2.

One day after Preacher finds out about the real identity of Paige, her husband, a police officer, arrives at Jack’s bar, asking questions about the pie and who made it. Preacher knew Paige was a victim of domestic violence, and she ran because the beating got too much for her, and she could not see her son suffering the same fate.
But trouble has a way of finding people, and when the finale of Virgin River season 1 was about to end, we see Preacher in Paige’s house, and there is blood on the floor. Something happened inside the house, and we fear for the safety of Paige.

There is something to be said about the way Robyn Carr handles her books, with characters, but underneath it all, everyone is flawed. This story was also on full display when the second book in the Virgin River series was released. We are already introduced to Paige and Preacher but in the book series, the meeting happens in the second book and Paige and Preacher of the books are not as familiar with each other as they are shown to be in the series. Paige was running when she first met Preacher, but in anyways the harrowing story of Paige will play an integral role in the upcoming Virgin River season 2.
This is one of the reasons why Robyn Carr books are beloved, the way she handles pain, suffering, and grief. Paige went through a lot, and it is time she stood up for herself and fought for the life she wants to live, instead of running away. Virgin River season 2 will definitely deal with the suffering of Paige and what she will do to finally be rid of her husband and be with the man she deserves.
4. Hope and Doc get back Together
Doc and Hope seem to be ready to get back together, hopefully in Virgin River season 2 the realize how complete they are with one another.

Hope McCrea is the most annoying character in the series, and we say that with all earnestness, she is sometimes seriously annoying, but then are moments where she is the best character out there. Hope just has a way of stepping in front of her own blessings and good things coming her way.
This is also probably the reason why she never was romantically involved with anyone after her third marriage with Doc Mullins, played by Tim Matheson, ended in heartbreak. Doc cheated on her, and 20 years later, she was still there, knowing she loved him but could never forget the one infraction which ended, what could’ve been an amazing time together.
All the stories and especially Hope and Doc's will come to a resolution in Virgin River season 2.

But you could see Hope is not ready to sign the divorce papers; Doc is also not ready; he made one unforgivable mistake, and now he’s paid for it by not being in a relationship with anyone for the past two decades. She knows he deserves a chance, and even though Hope thought her heart attack was a sign of moving on from the marriage, which ended 20 years ago, she also knows it is time to forgive one mistake, no matter how egregious it was, at the time.
There are signs the creators and the writers of the show will be looking to explore the love-hate relationship between the two further, and we are all here for it. Doc is a good man, and he made one bad mistake, and he paid for it 20 times over, Hope knows she loves him, and Doc knows he loves her, so better get on with it old people.
For once Hope needs to stop the self-sabotage and open herself to what her heart really wants.

The one thing Robyn Carr's books have always been and the reason why people keep going back to the book series is because of the stories of redemption. The books are also about forgiveness, hope, heart and rising through pain and Hope along with Doc needs to come to terms with what they want with their remaining time on earth, however long it may be. Do they want to keep squabbling or for once in 20 years, let their heart do the talking instead of their hurtful mouths.
You do not need to find yourself and fall in love in Virgin River; you two already did that 20 years ago, now, it’s time to open your eyes and see who’s always been there for the past two decades. We definitely see this plot thread being pulled in Virgin River season 2.
Virgin Rivers Season 2 – When Will it Be Available for Streaming?

Virgin River season 2 is happening, and though Netflix is silent about the whole thing, educated sources on the matter say filming is already underway. By most estimates, the show will be available for streaming during the summer, but again, we do not see Netflix jumping the gun on the series during the summer.
The Netflix show is a feel-good, get under the sheets, hug the person you love, in the winter, type of series and it would be a big mistake releasing the show in the summer instead of the winter. November December is the perfect time for the show to arrive on Netflix and no matter how much we are dying inside to binge another season of Virgin River, with a stone on our heart, we hope the series arrives on Netflix during the winter season.
Cold weather and Virgin River season 2 would go perfectly together.

Virgin River is the better version of Hallmark movies, and we do not mean disrespect to the people who love Hallmark Channel. But you could see the difference yourself, and like the Hallmark sequels, we see Virgin River season 2 arriving on Netflix and be available for streaming sometime in November or December of 2020.
