Colin Lawrence

Colin Lawrence was born on 7th September 1970 in London while his Jamaican parents raised him alongside his three siblings in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. His sister helped him become a model, eventually leading the path to a career as an actor.

Lawrence is best known for starring in iZombie (2015), The Good Doctor (2017), and Riverdale (2017). In addition, he’s played a guest role in three of the most extended science fiction series: The X-Files (1993), Stargate SG-1 (1997), and Smallville (2001).

Based on the novels by author Robyn Carr, Virgin River is a romance web series that premiered on Netflix on 6th December 2019.

The series follows the character of Melinda “Mel” Monroe, played by The Walking Dead and This Is Us star, Alexandra Breckenridge, who applies to a job opening as a nurse practitioner in a remote town of Virgin River located in California.

Mel seeks to start afresh in a brand new location, hoping to leave her painful memories behind. However, much to her shock, Melinda soon realizes moving on isn’t quite easy as it seems, so she must learn to heal herself before she can embrace Virgin River as her home.

Colin Lawrence is playing the role of John “Preacher” Middleton. He is a close friend of Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) and a chef at his bar. The duo shares a lot of history together since they previously served as U.S. marines.

The other notable cast includes Jenny Cooper as Joey Barnes, Lauren Hammersley as Charmaine Roberts, Annette O’Toole as Hope McCrea, Tim Matheson as Vernon “Doc” Mullins, Daniel Gillies as Mark, and Lexa Doig as Paige Lassiter / Michelle Logan.

Colin Lawrence tied the knot with his wife Lucia Walters following a delightful wedding on 18th September 1999. The couple shares two children together, both of whom are daughters.

In 2005, the husband and wife duo starred together in a science fiction series The 4400. They featured in an episode titled Weight of the World as an on-screen couple. Speaking of their part, Lawrence said:

It’s not too often that you get to work across from your mate. It was just a lot of fun to actually work on a show together as husband and wife.

The actor often takes to Instagram to display love for his wife and kids. On 10th June 2019, he shared a picture of his daughters showing how quickly they tend to grow up, captioning the post “what a difference two years can make”. Colin Lawrence has acted in several TV series since 1994, usually in guest or recurring roles. A decade later, he gained recognition as Hamish “Skulls” McCall on the rebooted version of military science fiction series Battlestar Galactica (2006-2009).

In 2006, the actor played the role of Young Robert Brooks in a live-action superhero series Blade (2006). Five years later, Lawrence featured as Detective Jason Evans in a Canadian drama series Endgame (2011).

For two years in 2011 and 2012, Colin portrayed the character of Benjamin Abani for 12 episodes in a crime drama series The Killing.
