Madelyn Sher is a newcomer on the small screen with just one acting credit to her name so far. She is making her name as a recurring character in the ABC dramedy The Baker and the Beauty.
The actress is an alum from CUNY Lehman’s Macaulay Honors College. Her father is a jazz musician and visual artist; therefore, she grew up in an environment that was always promising to the arts. Starting at the age of 9, she learned to dance at The Staten Island Ballet and finally found her passion of acting while appearing in The Nutcracker.
Recurring Character of Amy on ‘The Baker and the Beauty’ (2020)
Created by Dean Georgaris, The Baker and the Beauty is a romantic dramedy adapted from Assi Azar‘s Israeli romantic-comedy show Beauty and the Baker. The latter is one of Israel’s finest scripted shows in the nation’s television history. As a matter of fact, the episodes of the Israeli series streamed on Amazon Prime Video.
The crucial distinction between the American and Israeli versions was clarified by showrunner Dean Georgaris during the show’s panel at the winter TCA press tour.
The Israeli show stayed focused primarily on the baker and the beauty, and it was a half-hour show. We were able to expand it for the hour and really make it about the entire family, which sets us apart and lets us do family stories which we can all relate to.
Madelyn Sher is playing a recurring role of Amy on ABC’s The Baker and the Beauty. Natalie (Belissa Escobedo) bumps into Amy, a fellow student, while out shopping, and the two develop a romantic interest for each other.
